In this article I’d like to share DR Jerry Cooley’s research that had been done regarding the effectiveness of the storage solutions by soaking the hair follicles in each type of them and leaving it there for 5 days before using the hair grafts for implanting.
The results show that the survival rate of the hair follicles immersed in HypoThermosol is as high as 44% but with the combination of HypoThermosol and ATP, the rate is double up to 72%. Even though an actual procedure hours takes only 6-8 hours, that makes the survival rate to be at 90-95%.
(Find out more about ATP, you can read my article at How ATP is good for a Hair Restoration)
According to this research, HypoThermosol has been used in every of our procedure originally and later on we decided to have added ATP into the storage solution as a better standard which will be beneficial specially to a case that requires longer operation hours e.g. a patient who needs many grafts or a mega-session.
