ถึงแม้เราจะเห็นว่าคนที่ปลูกผมส่วนใหญ่เป็นผู้ชาย แต่อันที่จริงแล้วหมอก็ ปลูกผมผู้หญิง ได้เหมือนกันนะคะ
HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT WOMEN LIKE US OFTEN HAVE HAIR FALL ALL OVER ON THE FLOOR? THERE ARE MANY FACTORS THAT CAUSE HAIR FALL SUCH AS HORMONAL CHANGES AFTER GIVING BIRTH, MENOPAUSE, STRESS, LACK OF ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS FOR THE HAIR E.G. PROTEIN OR VITAMIN B ETC., INCLUDING THE USE OF VARIOUS HAIR STYLING CHEMICALS AS WELL.
THE TREATMENTS OF HAIR LOSS OR HAIR THINNING IN WOMEN DIVIDED INTO 2 CASES AS DETAILED BELOW:
- CASE 1: THIN HAIR ALL OVER THE HEAD
In this case it may not be possible to do a hair transplant because women don’t have permanent hair areas like men. So I recommend other treatment methods instead of hair transplant, including:
– Treatment with oral and topical medications Mainly there are 2 medicines you might have heard about which are Minoxidil and Finasteride. However, you shouldn’t buy medicines to take by yourself. What you should do is to consult with a medical professional first because each medicine has side effects and the dosage for each person is also different. Although medication is the most effective and targeted treatment, topical use is equally effective. The type that is most commonly used is a topical medicine called Minoxidil. It is necessary to be consistent in applying the medication and it takes 3-6 months or more to see a noticeable change. In this case, I would like to tell you a secret that the Hairsmith Clinic has a topical Minoxidil mixed with Finasteride, which works very well and is not available anywhere else.
– Treatment (Platelet Rich Plasma) It is to draw a patient’s own blood to spin to extract the platelet-concentrated plasma. Then injected into areas with thinning hair problems. I recommend doing it once a month for 3 months in a row, then do it every 3-6 months. Doing treatment the noticeable results will be seen after 6 months onwards.
- CASE 2: NO THINNING HAIR ALL OVER THE HEAD PROBLEM
There is no hair thinning problem but a wide or big forehead, or you have a receding hairline like most men do. In this case you can get a hair transplant done which helps to build your confidence. It also helps to shape your face to look more feminine with a fully natural looking hairline.
HOW MANY TECHNIQUES ARE THERE FOR A FEMALE HAIR TRANSPLANT?
There are 2 techniques of hair transplantation for women at Hairsmith clinic, as mandated by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), which are:
FUT STANDS FOR FOLLICULAR UNIT TRANSPLANTATION
FUT hair transplant is the first hair transplant technique. This technique is a small surgery where the doctor will remove the scalp in a single strip at the back of the head and then sew the wounds together. This FUT technique takes around 1-2 weeks for the back wound to be completely closed and healed. After 7 days, the patient has to get a stitch removal which will leave a long linear scar at the back. In this case, the patient must have long hair to cover the scar.
FUE STANDS FOR FOLLICULAR UNIT EXCISION
It is a newer technique where the surgeon uses a specialized tool with a small drill placed across the hair shaft and extracts the hair one by one from the back of the head. The extracted hair grafts will be sorted and grouped accordingly to be implanted in the desired area. The FUE technique is more popular than FUT because it hurts less and the back wounds heal faster than FUT.
However, regardless of what technique, at HAIRSMITH CLINIC, the implanter pen will be used in a graft placement process putting hair grafts back into a scalp which the advantage of this is that it reduces damage to the hair roots. This means that the survival rate of the hair roots that are implanted are also higher.
HOW ARE FEMALE HAIR TRANSPLANTS DIFFERENT FROM MEN?
TO CREATE A FEMALE HAIRLINE IS DIFFERENT FROM MEN’S BECAUSE IT REQUIRES MORE SUBTLETY. WHEN I PERFORM A PROCEDURE FOR WOMEN, THE HAIR LINES TEND TO BE CURVED TO MATCH THE FACE WHICH MAKES THE FACE LOOK SWEET, NOT ROUGH. THE FRONT ROW OF HAIR WILL BE SINGLE HAIR, KNOWN AS THE ONE-HAIR GRAFT, TO CREATE A HAIRLINE AND GRADUALLY BECOME THICKER INSIDE TO MAKE THE TRANSPLANTED HAIR LOOK AS NATURAL AS POSSIBLE. OR YOU CAN SHOW ME THE PHOTO OF THE HAIRLINE THAT YOU LIKE. IT DEPENDS ON THE PREFERENCES OF EACH PERSON.
WHO IS A FEMALE HAIR TRANSPLANT SUITABLE FOR?
- HAVING WIDE FOREHEAD SINCE BIRTH
- PEOPLE WHOSE HAIR IS THIN AT THE MIDDLE PART FROM GENETICS BUT THE HAIR ON THE BACK IS STILL THICK
- HAIR TRANSPLANT OVER SCARS INCLUDING SCARS FROM SURGERY
- PEOPLE WHO WANT TO ADJUST THEIR FACE FRAME TO BE MORE PROPORTIONAL TO ENHANCE THEIR CONFIDENCE
DOES FEMALE HAIR TRANSPLANT HURT?
Another question that is often asked is whether hair transplantation hurts or not. Hair transplantation, according to the definition of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), is considered a type of surgery and as it is known as surgery, so it’s impossible to say that it doesn’t hurt at all. The ISHRS guidelines clearly state that it is forbidden to advertise it as painless surgery thus to say that hair transplantation doesn’t hurt would be a lie.
At the Hairsmith Clinic, the only step to feel the pain is during an anesthetic injection at the very beginning of the surgery. If you ask how much it would hurt, I would say, if you have ever experienced Botox injections before the pain is similar to that. So it is at a level that is definitely tolerable. We also have a massage team to distract you while injecting anesthetic to help reduce pain sensations, relieve tension, and anxiety of the patients during injections as well.
When the anesthesia works, the patient will not feel anything throughout the surgery, including after the surgery as well. On the first night, I will give you painkillers to take home as well. After the procedure, the numbness may remain, which will take about 1-3 months to return to normal. Nothing to worry about.
However, if you’re still worried about the pain from the anesthetic injection, we also have a “special option” to serve you as well. Everyone who has been a fan of Hairsmith Clinic for a long time knows that we are not normal (ha). In the year of 2022, we have a sedation service for about 15 minutes during the injection so that the patient doesn’t feel the pain. And of course, the patient’s safety is the most important. That’s why this sedation process will be done by a professional anesthesiologist to make sure it’s safe. However, this additional option will also cost extra.
PREPARATION BEFORE WOMEN HAIR TRANSPLANT
Since hair transplant surgery is a small surgery, the pre-procedure and post-procedure are not difficult, just refrain from vitamins for 1-2 weeks. If anyone is taking Minoxidil, stop taking it before the day of the hair transplant. Also, refrain from having tea or coffee on an operative day as these vitamins, medicines, and beverages can slow down the bleeding, resulting in longer surgery hours. The longer the hair roots stay outside of the body, the survival rate may be reduced, and most importantly a patient might be more tired from a longer hours procedure.
On the procedure day, don’t forget to wear a button-front shirt instead of a T-shirt. When you go home, it’s easier to take off the shirt and not touch the transplanted area, otherwise, the newly planted graft may fall off and not grow as it should.
WOMEN HAIR TRANSPLANT AFTER CARE
After the hair transplant surgery, it’s not difficult to take care of yourself. You have to understand that the wound from the hair transplant will take 2-4 days to dry completely. During this time, you may need to be careful because the grafts still have a chance to fall off easily. Be careful not to pick at or scratch the transplanted area, refrain from exercising for about 2 weeks, refrain from swimming and sauna for 4 weeks, avoid being in direct sunlight for too long until the skin is burned. If you have to stay outdoors for a long time, you should wear a hat to protect the hair that has just been planted.
And you can wash your hair every day, but you should follow the advice of the clinic technician, as well as use mild shampoo for the first 2 weeks. After this period, you can wash your hair normally and live a normal life without having to be very careful.
COMPLICATION AFTER HAIR TRANSPLANT
There are very few side effects from hair transplants that are not a great concern. The most common are swelling, mild pain, redness, temporary native hair falling (Shock Loss) or discolored hair, etc. However, these complications are temporary and can gradually resolve over a period of time.
However, choosing a hair transplant clinic with a standard reduces the chances of these complications. On the other hand, if choosing a non-standard or inexperienced provider, serious complications can occur as well. The worst is the fatal infection that has happened in India before. As you can see, choosing a good hair transplant clinic is very important.
HOW MUCH DOES A FEMALE HAIR TRANSPLANT COST?
At Hairsmith Clinic, the price of a female hair transplant is 75 baht per graft (2022 price) with a minimum of 1,000 grafts required but if the number of grafts is less than that, the price is 90 baht per graft, with a minimum of 49,000 baht.
- Hair loss medicine for 12 months (Trust me, no one gives you more than that.)
- treatment (1 time)
- Follow up every 3 months throughout the year
- ATP Healing Spray post-op (this is one of the amazing items)
- Unlimited use of Low-level laser light cap (LLLT) throughout the year
- The result is guaranteed
REVIEW OF FEMALE’S HAIR TRANSPLANT
When looking at hair transplant reviews, you should see the results after 6-12 months of hair transplant because it’s the time when the hair has started growing more than 50%. Therefore, the picture immediately after the hair transplant can’t tell whether the hair will grow well or not.
The matter of hair is one of the important things that women care about because it’s a part that enhances our confidence. And I’m more than happy to help everyone with that. You can make an appointment for a free consultation with me. See you!
