HAIR TRANSPLANT MEDICATION AND HAIR TRANSPLANTATION ARE DIFFERENT IN THE SAME STORY.
Hair Transplant medication

Not long ago, I came across a question from my patient. Which I think is very interesting so I want to share it with you. The patient was asking that …

“The transplanted hair will stay permanently. So why do I have to take a hair transplant medication still?”

Actually, taking the medicine will not help the area that is bald and the medicine will not help to grow new hair in the bald area because that area does not have hair roots to maintain anymore. That’s why a hair transplantation is the way to go. Therefore, taking medicine or not does not affect the transplanted hair because it is already permanent hair. However, I recommend taking medication because the natural hair in the area that hasn’t been transplanted will still fall off due to hormones or genetics. So the natural hair behind the hairline that we transplanted will be thinner and eventually go bald. It doesn’t look cool at all, does it?

Now there will be another question that if taking the medicine for many years continuously, will there be any side effects on the body? Especially, many patients are concerned about having a sexual impotence but actually, there is only a 2% chance that would happen, which is very low. Will it affect the liver? Just a little and it’s not on a dangerous level. Hair transplant medicine does not accumulate in the liver. The body will drive it away by itself. Moreover, if you have the opportunity to have an annual physical examination and find that the liver function is normal, then there is no problem. You can continue taking the medication.
