On the second day after surgery, the blood stains on the recipient area will start to harden up and become scabs. During the first 2 weeks, the patient should avoid rubbing, scratching or picking at the transplanted area because the scabs area that we pick at may pull out the newly planted hair follicles too. The fallen hair may not grow again so the patient should wait for 2 weeks before starting to wash off the scabs.

To wash off the scabs after 2 weeks, fermenting hair with shampoo or olive oil about 5-10 minutes is recommended. This step will help to make the scabs become soft and easy to fall off. Then use your fingertips to gently tab and rub until the scabs fall off. Sometimes the hair that is grown may fall out too but if it has already been 2 weeks, it is considered safe and the hair will grow again.

Or you can ferment your hair with oil overnight and then wash it off in the morning will also help to make scabs fall off easily as well but if you’re not confident at all, you can also contact the doctor or clinic for more information.
