Preparation before the transplant
There’s not much to do in preparation. Just make sure to get enough rest, have breakfast, and avoid coffee or tea on the morning of the procedure. Upon arriving at the clinic, I met with the doctor to map out my new hairline and determine the number of grafts required—1,600 in my case. The cost for the Non-shaven FUE method is 140 baht per graft. They also provide a year’s worth of free hair growth medication and PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) treatment on the day of the transplant. Post-transplant care
Two days after the procedure, I returned to the clinic to have my hair washed, wounds cleaned, and was taught how to wash my hair at home. For the first two weeks, you have to be extra careful with the transplanted area and strictly follow the aftercare instructions. Avoid scratching or picking at the scabs, as the new hair roots are still settling in. After two weeks, you can start gently rubbing the transplanted area, and after that, you can return to your normal routine without any special precautions.
Between two weeks and one month after the transplant, some of the transplanted hair may shed, though some hairs will continue growing. Don’t worry! Dr. Prima assured me that the new hair would start growing after about three months, with fine hair beginning to sprout.
After 6 months for Hair Transplant
Let me take you back to the beginning. Right after the transplant, I was able to return to work the next day without worrying about my hairstyle. No one around me noticed that I’d had a transplant. Even my barber, who can usually tell if someone’s had a hair transplant, didn’t notice because the back of my head looked seamless. The transplanted hair at the front looked very natural too. It’s now been six months, and around 50% of the transplanted hair has grown in. The new hairline is much more defined, and it looks so natural that even my friends couldn’t tell I’d had a transplant.
