HOW CAN THINNING HAIR BE TREATED EFFECTIVELY?

For those who are experiencing thinning hair in the central area of the head and are unsure about the best treatment method, it can be confusing and overwhelming due to the various options advertised on different websites. These options include using medication, undergoing various treatment procedures, and even resorting to hair transplantation for treating thinning hair. This raises the question of whether it is possible to undergo a hair transplant for the crown area. Today, I have provided an answer for you.

The characteristics of thinning hair leading to a receding hairline can vary in different forms. Those who have frequently followed my articles may have come across some recommended information. As for the treatment of thinning hair in the middle of the head, it may need to be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Some individuals have a wide forehead combined with thinning in the middle of the head. In such cases, the doctor would need to inquire about the patient’s primary concerns because not everyone is specifically focused on addressing a wide forehead. Some may simply want to preserve the remaining hair from thinning further. In these cases, treatment with medication or accompanying treatments can be sufficient. Medication can help thicken the fine hair in the middle of the head and also maintain the natural hair from prematurely disappearing.

WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO TAKE MEDICATION, CAN I JUST UNDERGO A HAIR TRANSPLANT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY HEAD?

The answer is yes, however, a patient has to be informed of the possible circumstances that may occur post operation on the crown in the case of there are still hair follicles on the area but the hairs are getting thinner but not to the balding point yet.

Therefore, I would recommend patients to try medication first for about a year. If after that period the mid-scalp area has not shown improvement, then considering a transplant is still an option. This is because taking medication is a good method to preserve the patient’s natural hair, and it serves as a strategy for managing the patient’s back-of-the-head hair (Donor Management Plan) to achieve the maximum benefit. However, the final decision on which approach to choose ultimately depends on the patient’s own discretion.
